Oh, it freaking rocks. Even CDPR borrowed from it. Phantom Liberty’s inciting incident was almost 1:1 the same. It’s enjoyable as hell and has a great premise and setting. It’s just that of the list I posted, it easily has the wonkiest writing, besides maybe Thunderdome. Speaking of, I was not expecting Lee Van Cleef to show up in Escape from NY. I’d seen it before, many years ago, and I guess I’d forgotten. Was a nice surprise, because the guy always played a really good badass. Kinda funny since there was kind of a "Western" theme in all the movies I’ve been watching and Escape felt like the odd one out in that regard. The murderer appears to live in either the apartment complex my mom's partner lives at, or the one right next to it. To make a long story short, while I was taking the trash out for Dave, my mom's partner, this investigator pulls over and talks to me about this murder. Guy bashes a homeless dude's head in twelve times with a cinder block. Cops were able to track his movement with cameras all across the city until he disappeared in between these two houses. I was the first person the investigator was able to talk to that knew anything about the area. And the scary shit?
